In May 2026, Bruno receives the Special David Award at the 71st edition of the David di Donatello Awards, Italy’s most prestigious film awards. The honor recognizes his extraordinary career and lasting contribution to the art of animation. The award is presented during the ceremony at Cinecittà Studios in Rome, celebrating Bruno as one of the masters of Italian and international animation.

From today, an asteroid orbiting between Mars and Jupiter officially carries Bruno Bozzetto’s name: (132668) Brunobozzetto, a designation approved by the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
The idea came from astrophysicist Sabrina Masiero and became a reality thanks to Dr. Fabrizio Bernardi, who discovered the asteroid and proposed that it be named in Bruno’s honor.

for the special event “Bozzetto in Orbit.” The afternoon will celebrate Bruno Bozzetto’s remarkable career and include the official presentation of the certificate for asteroid, followed by screenings of some of his animated short films.

Bruno Bozzetto will be among the featured artists in the National Museum of Cinema’s major new dinosaur exhibition, opening this November at the Mole Antonelliana in Torino/Turin, Italy. The exhibition, whose main attraction will be two spectacular Tyrannosaurus rex skeletons, will also celebrate Bruno’s unique contribution to animation and his original way of portraying prehistory and evolution.
